Chapter One

OK, lets start out with chapter one. Chapter one shows when Jonas believes that he is feeling frightened in a way. See these people live in a community of sameness. They all look alike in ways and they have always known one feeling, happiness, except they don't think that it is happiness but instead they think that it isn't a feeling at all. The people in this community have never felt hate or trust or love. That is why Jonas seems to be having problems figuring out what he feels. Back to chapter one, Jonas thinks he feels frightened because some aircraft has been flying over his community and the rules of his town state that you cannot fly an aircraft over the community. A loud speaker tells Jonas and the rest of his community to leave their bicycles where they are(bicycles are the new way around, no one uses cars or trucks or anything like that, just simple bikes.) and run to the nearest household. This puts the community in a state of shock.Imagine if you were Jonas, would you be afraid to? But then the loud speaker tells them that everything was OK and that the pilot was going to be released. What do you think released means? This is interesting, what is released?
